A Daring New Rock Band

Suran Song in Stag, a daring new rock band from the New Brunswick area, will bring a multi-media presentation to its record release party tomorrow night at the Budapest Cocktail Lounge, 2354 Somerset St., New Brunswick. The band will play songs from its debut CD, “Shiny Objects,” in a show that promises to be something of a cross between Laurie Anderson, Liz Phair and Sonic Youth. The band will play its shimmering, jagged, hard-edged pop-rock with accompaniment from four slide projectors that will show action art images made from stilts yes, stilts and video. Admission is $3 and the show gets under way at 10 p.m. with Alice B. Talkless and Freak Party also performing.
