On Nature (Logos (λόγος) In The Sky With Diamonds), 2015
Birch plywood, transparent plexiglass, white paint, lipstick, and residue mist from the breath.
20 x 20 x 100 inches
The one-word poem “Lucy” by Aram Saroya is recited from inside the sculpture platform while slowly spinning on my heels to create marks within the transparent plexiglass staff area. For the first round, maroon lipstick was used to match the sound waves from repeating the one-word poem. In the second round, the residue of my breath from repeating the poem marks the plexiglass staff area. Then, the lipstick traces are wiped clean before exiting the sculpture.
