Suran Song Promises an Aggressive, Red Hot Live Show, Well Worth Investigating, Valley Advocate

Valley Advocate – 2/7/02

Suran Song promises an aggressive, red hot live show, well worth investigating.

When the performance artist Suran Song tired of staging her political art in big city galleries, she hooked up with two like-minded punk rock graduates and formed a high-octane, post-punk trio called … “Suran Song in Stag.” Her band’s arty agit-prop racket bears more than a passing resemblance to ’80s phenoms like the Slits, Pylon and, especially, the Gang of Four, and their current “Cowboys and Indians” tour sports a battery of larger-than-life slide projections.

With a habit for choosing winning cover material (Throwing Muses, Paul Weller, their beloved Gang of Four) and a knack for composing get-up-and-go originals, Suran Song promises an aggressive, red hot live show this Sunday, well worth investigating.
