Hi! Alongside many fine artists, this group show includes three paintings on paper that I made during the covid spring and summer of 2020.

In order to take in as much sunlight as possible, I spent as much time as possible watching photosynthesis outdoors by painting en plein air.

If you go to see them hanging at Art Retail Therapy downtown, I hope that some of that freshness and sunlight transmits to you! They were painted in my sister’s backyard where I was sheltering in place in West Redding, CT.

The curators said that they were inspired in part by the wonderful Crest Hardware shows of yore. Here is further note from the curators:

Off-Brand will feature artworks integrated into the retail environment. More than demonstrating how certain art supplies have been used, the show aims to create a sense of surprise and delight in a non-traditional gallery setting. Shoppers will encounter a variety of paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations as they browse the store’s offerings. Work might be suspended from the ceiling, hanging above displays of paints, or sitting on shelves next to bottles of ink.
